368137 2005-06-30 00:58:00 Very new to Win XP Pro and cannot find W M P under All Programs, Accessories, Entertainment as per Help - all that is under there is Windows Media Connect.

Using Windows Explorer I find W M P under Program Files.

However, I want to create a shortcut on the desktop so I think I need to know which .exe file to make the shortcut to and I have 3 to choose from:-
migrate.exe
setup_wm.exe
wmsetsdk.exe

None of these looks a likely suspect to me

Please, how do I create a desktop shortcut to Windows Media Player ?

368138 2005-06-30 01:03:00 It almost seems like it has been uninstalled or a custom install without it. The exe should be "wmplayer.exe" and should reside in "Program Files \ Windows Media Player" wuppo (41)

So now it's installed by Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs, Add/remove Windows Components, tick in ONLY Windows Media Player box and clicking next and finish. Then, of course, making a shortcut onto the desktop = Done

Many thanks
