| 368064 | 2005-06-29 18:58:00 | I have just built my first PC on my own. Its up and running but I do not know how to select the correct CPU settings in Bios. The CPU is a AMD Athlon XP 2600+/512kb L2 Cache,Asus A7v600-x motherboard. At the moment the settings are, CPU speed Manual/Freq Multi 16.0x/external freq 133/33 /CPU Vcore 1.65v. These settings give me a Internal clock of 1533 MHZ. From what I have read it should have have a speed of just over 2 MHZ. Can you please advise what Bios settings I should select to increase the CPU speed, thanking you in anticipation. |

| 368065 | 2005-06-29 20:24:00 | an AMD Athlon XP2600+ should be at 2.13GHz. reset the cmos by taking out the battery for about 10min then putting it back in. that may put it back to defult, or we will have change a few settings in the bios. not sure if i am right in saying this: your mulitplier should be 16.0 and your FSB (front side bus) should be 133 because 16.0*133=2128mhz which is 2.13ghz rounded. :illogical |
