2005-06-29 06:54:00 | I'm using a DC++ clone called rmDC++, basically the same as DC, but with multi-source functions. Every since i re-installed XP a week ago, my downloads in DC have started of at normal speeds, then started slowing down and eventually disconnecting. Most sources hav disconnected within about 30 seconds after connecting to them. This problems appears to be only DC related, as i have run various speed checks and they have reported my connection at around 1.5mb (im with xtra - 2mb) I am running in passive mode with DC, however i ran in passive mode before re-installing XP, and it worked fine. Any solutions, have i missed out installed some program or xp component after re-installing XP? Note: this same problem occurs with the origional DC++ as well. Please helpful answers, none of this spyware and virus scan advice.

When it dissconnects does it just show "connection timeout" or something different? Has the normal internet surfing been affected? Have a go at Active mode anyway and see how it goes. |

2005-06-30 06:32:00 | the problem stopped now, seems to be the emulation of DC was set to the old number. Lol dont worry if that doesnt make sense, the important thing is it works. Could i have some advice on going active though, im useless with firewalls. Im using sygate personal firewall, allthough recomend any other software firewalls. Sygate seems to hog bout 10% of my cpu, and that can be alot of waste when ur running a celeron

2005-06-30 08:46:00 | Hey, I didn't think that DC++ worked when you had the firewall activated, cause it blocks everyone from conecting to your files? Anyway, you can find out your IP address by going to the command prompt in windows and typing "ipconfig". As for the "TCP" and "UDP" ports just try 732 for the TCP and 740 for the UDP. I had to stuff around for a while with these settings to get them right but if these dont work just google TCP and UDP ports and read about them a bit more.

2005-07-23 04:26:00 | hmm well it depends on what dc client you're using. I encounted a number of other bugs in rmDC and ive sinced switched to peerweb DC++. | imarubberducky (7230) | |
