| 367467 | 2005-06-27 22:41:00 | Recently I upgraged to Messenger v7.0 But I can't seem to uninstall the previous version, it has disappeared from the list of Programs but the old version still pops up and wants me to sign on. I have Win Xp home edition. | poppy (552) | ||

| 367470 | 2005-06-28 02:03:00 | From what I read you are actually talking about a previous version of MSN Messenger (6.2?) and not Windows Messenger, which are 2 different programs Windows Messenger is at version 5.1, MSN Messenger is 7.0 However, incase I'm wrong and it is Windows Messenger you want removed do the following: Go to Add Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components and at the bottom of the list is Windows Messenger, untick the entry and it will be uninstalled If the entry isn't there, download XP Antispy and use it to completely remove Windows Messenger www.majorgeeks.com This will not however fix your 6.2/7.0 MSN Messenger problem You could try msconfig, disable MSN Messenger from automatically starting and start the new version 7.0 from a desktop shortcut Or Try reinstalling version 7.0 again Don't install from the net, download the file and install locally |
