368632 2005-07-02 06:09:00 For a start, have another look at your signature and practice what you preach. ;)

The forum has a Linux FAQ (www.pressf1.co.nz) with links to sites with good information. Go to those sites and read up on their info and if you still can't figure things out, come back and ask for help.

Sorry if that sounds a bit harsh but there is a lot to learn with Linux and if you can't be bothered trying to help yourself first then maybe Linux is not for you.

368633 2005-07-02 11:48:00 Hi Mirddes

In your previous thread I gave a link to a website with user guides on Ubuntu including installing software when you asked this same question. Did you not find that website helpful? Was there a particular program that the guide did not help with?

368634 2005-07-03 07:42:00 um yea, thats the problam, for alot of apps teh quide was very helpful, but as is the case with the majority of guides, they lack greatter depth.
i just really want to install the quake3a demo off of Id's site.

368635 2005-07-03 10:12:00 Well I have never installed Quake, but Ubuntu has a specific forum just for gaming so it would be worth while you searching it for Quake threads.
