And put a spare power connector on it. And then go into the BIOS and put Primary Slave on AUTO. Thats it. Your cable will be like this Motherboard |------------------|Slave|---------------|Master Then you format the hdd, depending on which version of windows is installed. |

| 368590 | 2005-07-02 04:57:00 | morn' evrybody..i wanna put another harddisk into my cpu.. Follow the advise given. Just a note: Your CPU is the chip inside your COMPUTER (box, case) that has the big heatsink and fan on top of it. Would be very hard to fit a hard drive into a CPU. |

| 368591 | 2005-07-02 21:47:00 | when I did mine the flat ribbon cable thingy only had one HDD connection so maybe yours is the same. Go to DSE, Jaycar or your favourite computer store and get one with two plugs/connections on it and from there it is pretty straight forward. But you will need a program to add the HDD. Go to the web site of the HDD maker and download instructions. I can't remember the name of the program I used to protect my existing data. someone here will tell us about now! | theother1 (3573) | ||
