| 368155 | 2005-06-30 02:54:00 | Operating aPC with XP (SP2) and thinking about changing from IE6 and Outlook Express. Have heard of Firefox/Thunderbird but know nothing about them. Any comments on suitability and precautions about installation? Cheers Gillie |

| 368157 | 2005-06-30 03:11:00 | There's Opera, Firefox, Thunderbird and others. Altho I havent tried Thunderbird, I've tried Firefox but its not that good for tabbed browsing. I use Opera. It's easier for tabbed browsing, RSS feeds and the latest version also has voice. You just need a mic and its a 10.5 mb install, for the voice, if u want to use it. Altho u can change to another browser and email client, its not that easy getting rid of IE and OE. If this is what you want to do. Nothing wrong with installing Opera, or Firefox. Altho Opera does have ads (but not spyware), till u register it. |

The download for the Opera without Java version (if you already have Java installed on your PC or don't wish to use it, like myself) is only 3.6MB. (well actually netscape does have the advantage of being able to switch between firefox and IE rendering - good for site devolpers) id go with firefox, however i may consider going back to internet explorer once they release IE7. (yes i bow down to the evil one - microsoft) |

| 368164 | 2005-06-30 06:56:00 | Try it and find out . I just find it easier since Opera has a New page button (to bring up a new tab), and firefox from when I used it hasn't . It only has an option where u have to open tabs from a menu (if there's 4 links in a menu u made), all have to be opened in tabs . And you can add often visited sites to a personal bar, in Opera, which can appear either up the top of the screen, or the bottom of opera, (just click on the link, and u go to the site), which I couldn't see in Firefox either . And also the voice, which is handy, which I couldn't see in Firefox either . |
