| 368477 | 2005-07-01 10:48:00 | I have a nasty problem, i have got 3 kind of "dead" files on my desktop, they are all Exe files, one of them is INSTALL.EXE, one is iTunesSetup and one is Pindlebot, i cant iTunesSetup because if i try to delete, i get an error and it says that i cant delete the file because its in use and try to close every program that might use it, and after i press ok, my processor use is in 100% and computer is veeeeery slow and i have to reboot, if i try to delete INSTALL.EXE my computer will just freeze, nothing happens and mouse is stuck etc, also have to reboot that time, and i cant remove Pindlebot either because it also freezes and fu*ks up my computer. How did i get these ? I got INSTALL.EXE when i tried to install drivers for a very old joystick called TopGun something, i tried to install the driver from a disket.. iTunesSetup just came when i downloaded it from iTunes homepage, kind of weird.. I always download zip's and setups to the dekstop and i dont know what happened, its just very "buggy".. and Pindlebot is a bot to Diablo2 RPG, it runs some monsters again and again and picks up items that they drop.. Do you people know any program or a style how i could get rid of these annoying files ? :illogical |

To get into safe mode, reboot the computer then press F8 ... you will go into a startup menu, use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode [only] then press Enter. Drag the files to the Recycle Bin and then delete them from there. When you have done this, just reboot your computer normally There is also an application; whose name currently escapes me; that some forum members use and recommend for this kind of problem. |
