| 368390 | 2005-07-01 00:40:00 | I have a colleague who cannot place more than 10 addresses into subfolders in the OE address book. In fact I suspect that this applies to the Main Identity Contacts too because she says she has 10 address folders to cover 100 people. The IT people involved don't know either. XP has been reinstalled twice (so I believe), 18 month old machine. Any clues? |

| 368391 | 2005-07-01 05:29:00 | I believe Metla has a 2 step quick fix . 1) Give him money . 2) He gives you a new computer . If you encounter any problems just repeat the 2 step quick fix . . Back up the address book, do a search for the address book "* . wab" and move it away to a different directory . Go back to OE and look at the address book, it should be empty . See if you can add more than 10per folder . . See if there are any updates for IE and OE . . Switch to Thunderbird . . You could scan for spyware/virus . |

Thanks for the suggestion Rob, and I'll see what can be done . Oops - wrong forum . :badpc: |

| 368394 | 2005-07-01 22:53:00 | Try this Do a search for .wab on the computer when it is found rename it to wab.old and restart Outlook Express(OE). Once started, OE will create a new .WAB file Have a look at these pages. insideoe.tomsterdam.com www.ieinfosite.co.uk hth |

Probably 80% of the time that assumption will hold true. |

Probably 80% of the time that assumption will hold true. I'm beginning to think this might be true. For example this PC was starting up overnight. A mystery. I know very little but I'd have immediately checked hibernation and the modem. Sure enough, after a lot of investigation, it was the modem waking on a phone ring. Thanks for the links John. I'll see what can be done. Cheers Winston |
