368338 2005-06-30 22:50:00 My kit's 2+ years old now and I'd like to start doing some incremental upgrades. Thought it best to start off with a new mobo. I'd like to get a new one to support newish top line Pentium cpu's. But I need it to support my existing cpu, P4 2.4 (socket 478)

Existing board is an Asus P4S533-X. I'd like the new one to support SATA2 as well as my existing IDE drives and my AGP graphics.

Is there something out their that would suit? I'd prefer to stick with Asus.

Thanks!

Doh - you mean I have to do it all myself!

368341 2005-06-30 23:53:00 Waste of time looking at the Asus site, only a small amount of teh boards are available in NZ.

Best to find a couple of boards in NZ then look for them on the Asus site and for reviews.

368343 2005-06-30 23:59:00 Which is probally way out of date, I haven't paid any attention to it since I delegated the looking after.

Then to my horrer found out they were working off an old pricelist, and people were ordering gear that was no longer available.

Sure were some bargins going as well.....

If they're not doing it well enough maybe we can come to some arrangement?
