369796 2005-07-06 01:08:00 When I click on a number of desktop and quicklaunch folders (icons) Money 2003 begins to load. When I then cancel the loading Money 2003 windows, the desired folder/program opens normally. Money attempts to load also when I push the special "My Computer" key on the keyboard. This loads up the drives folders.

If Money 2003 is left to load, the full program is activated.

Anyone any ideas as to how to stop this irksome problem?

Download the file and double click it to merge it into your registry.
It should fix your shortcuts opening other programs.

Thanks for the info but the problem still exists. It seems to happen when I try to open other than desktop items as well.

I looked further on the website you suggested and loaded "folder_open.vbs- " which seems to have done the trick.

Tks

The problem of the wrong folder/file opening when double clicking (MS Money tries to open) to open a specific file is back again. Is it possible to reset the default settings and work from there?

Cheers

369801 2005-07-08 03:50:00 Grab Tweakui from www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp (www.microsoft.com)
it has a icon repair feature try that.
When you say money tries to load when clicking a icon' Do you mean it tries to install itself again or just open .
If it's trying to install it self grab this program .
Which will remove the faulty installer for money.

Thanks (I hope!).

MS Money was trying to reinstall, so I tried for the second option and it appears to have worked.

I have heard of Tweak UI from time to time. Is it a useful tool to have?

Cheers
