369717 2005-07-05 20:25:00 How would be the best (cheap) way to speed up booting
and I guess everything else on this setup.
The owner is a sickness benificiary and very short of
readies.
XP home very basic setup
400Mhz Cpu
14GB in 2 HD's 4GB &10 GB
126 M Ram.

There does not appear to be much junk as the owner
keeps it lean and mean and is only useing about 2GB
of one HD.

369718 2005-07-05 21:17:00 Best thing to do would be to add some more RAM. This would give the most bang for buck as XP is a RAM hungry beast.

369719 2005-07-05 21:23:00 Just at a quick look I would say your customer uses PC100 or 133 RAM (though this is a guess) ... get more RAM, its worth around $40+ new, or check Trademe if you want secondhand. Myth (110)
