369692 2005-07-05 11:06:00 When booting up I get the mesage "Windows cant find C:\IMOG_NT\REGISTER\remind.exe" and next message "Desktop could not load or run C:\IMOG_NT\Register\remind.exe specifiednot in Registry. Make sure the file exists on your computer or remove reference o it from the registry" Ihave searched and the file does not exist, Can not find any reference on the desktop and am having trouble locating the registry entry. I have recently uninstalled Imoega Zip Drive tools etc using the uninstaller which has resulted in this problem. There appears to be no reference to this program on my directory etc. Any suggestions as to how to correct this problem or find the relative registry entry to solve. Hver run Nortons One Button check to no avail Thx :badpc: :badpc: JohnGodfrey (8163)
369693 2005-07-05 11:23:00 First try start-run ,type and enter MSCONFIG ,then click on the startup tab. Untick any Iomega listing there.

Two programs that are safe to use, Ccleaner (www.Ccleaner.com) , useing the issues tab, and the second is Regseeker (www.hoverdesk.net). These clean up the registry nicely, so should rid you of your problem.

369694 2005-07-05 11:24:00 Get ccleaner from here http://www . ccleaner . com and install / run it .

Then go to tools/startup .

See if this missing entry / file is here . If it is delete it . Or this file maybe in startup menu under all programs??

If it is here, delete it . Or run ccleaner, and click on issues . Click on scan for issues . And say no to back up registry and it'll remove invalid startup/entries in the registry .

369696 2005-07-05 22:58:00 First rule of registry editing (or any changes for that matter) "ALWAYS BACK IT UP" before editing.
Never say "no to backup registry" no matter what program you are using to clean the registry or whether you are editing it manually ALWAYS make a backup!
Although ccleaner is an excellent program and you're pretty much safe using it for a 'light' registry clean, programmers make mistakes and programs can be buggy.
Never put blind faith in a program which has the potential to trash your system.
Always make a registry backup before editing, then when you're happy all is well it's a simple matter to delete the backup.
It's not so simple to restore the registry if it is corrupted, from a backup that doesn't exist.
