369517 2005-07-05 02:29:00 I have installed FC4 on my PC along with Firefox.
The issue I have is that in Windows I have it set-up so that middle-click on a tab closes it (I think this is default).
In Gnome, however, when I middle-click on a tab I go to the last veiwed page.

I'm sure (recalling from memory - I have fixed this before) it is an option in Gnome (e.g. Gnome has it set-up for something else).
I think it is a place where you can define the behaviour of each mouse button.

Cheers

369518 2005-07-05 02:39:00 Does your middle-click work anywhere else? What about the scroll itself? These settings are defined in xorg.conf. Make sure you have selected to emulate 3 buttons. If this option is not listed, then just add it (as root) to the /etc/X11/xorg.conf yourself. You can copy the line from my example below:

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse0"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "yes"If you don't have scroll working either, then just add the ZAxisMapping line as well.

369519 2005-07-05 02:51:00 Hmm ... might of led you astray there. I think the emulate 3 buttons is so that you can click down on both the left and right buttons simultaneously to emulate a middle button click. Just tried that now and got the tab to close as well.

Other than that, I'm not a Gnome user and I'm not sure if it has specified mouse behaviour elsewhere. Check under the System settings etc areas for mouse.

369520 2005-07-05 02:53:00 I have a three button wheel mouse which is working fine.
Tried the idea of testing elsewhere. On the desktop it behaves like left-click. OOo it is paste.
What I think I am looking for is an applet in Gnone which allows me to change the behaviour of each mouse button.
