| 370253 | 2005-07-07 09:02:00 | My XP Home computer suddenly behaved strangely and would not print a page off a web site. I tried turning the printer off and on but to no avail. So I shut every program down and restarted, only to find my icons on my Desktop arranged very differently. So I restarted and pressed F8 and went for last known good configuration. My icons are still in disarray - and Im nervous! If the icons are shuffled, what other things have been messed up I wonder. On my Win 98 laptop I had a choice of a number of registry dates when I needed to go back to a previous configuration. I dont seem to have this luxury in the XP environment. In short, how do I go back to yesterday rather then earlier today? |

| 370256 | 2005-07-08 01:26:00 | It DID fix it. Thanks a lot. I've always been frightened by 'System Restore', apparently confusing it with restoring the operating system. Now I know it's not accompanied by lots of wailing and gnashing of teeth I'm delighted. Mike S |
