| 369873 | 2005-07-06 07:54:00 | The sound just doesnt seem to come one fine day. tried uploading drivers etc......but reckon should be a sound card problem. Can I have the sound card replaced or do I need to change the whole mother board!!!!..........guess gonna cost me huge?????? please help with any info!! |

| 369874 | 2005-07-06 08:38:00 | The sound is integrated into the motherboard. Replacement of the motherboard would likely be uneconomic when compared to another new Laptop. Also its probably unlikly to be the motherboard unless you have had an unfortunate accident with it. Backup your data and do a full system restore if all else fails, the laptop should have both the XP CD and a full recovery CD set. |

| 369875 | 2005-07-06 09:16:00 | also I notice that the modem is not working tooo.......when i try ti dial up ,it comes with an error saying unable to open port and the modem is in use by another device. In the properties section it says its connected through port 3 wheras i cant trace port 3 in my laptop at all. Its just getting worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| 369876 | 2005-07-06 09:52:00 | It SHOULD be COM3, its a "virtual port" created by the soft Modem. You will not be able to "trace" it (whatever that means) as its not a hardware port. |
