2005-07-07 07:42:00 | Hi I have to design a website for a predominately female audience and the client has request the site be feminine and professional, I need to look at some "feminine" sites to get ideas, but I either end up with porno sites, or horrific looking "Front Page" designed sites with flashing hearts and cursor faeries or stars or whatever the hell they are Any help would be appreciated Cheers Nigel

2005-07-07 07:55:00 | What about googling for feminine products, tampons, shampoo, hairdressing etc, etc that would have a predominantly female audience | netchicken (4843) | |
2005-07-07 08:15:00 | OK ... in the name of research ;) I typed lingerie into Google.. and found this: Chantelle.com (http://www.chantelle.com/) Incidentally my partner saw the site and said most women like the no-fuss, earth tones look - its more soothing and keeps them on the site longer :) She also said keep it simple and basic, too many buttons and they won't go back. Hope this helps

2005-07-07 08:32:00 | What sort of site is this, apart from needing a feminine look? There is a big difference if the intended viewers are mothers, business women, community or selling products etc. This sort of clean, tasteful (literally :p), and easy to navigate site appeals - http://www.ecook.co.nz/ I googled one of the suggested terms that netchicken gave, man, are there some right fruitcakes out there.

2005-07-07 10:00:00 | Dry retches :yuck: :pDitto!! :xmouth: Don't know if I would recommend it as a good example or not but this site (http://aww . ninemsn . com . au/) is aimed at a female audience . As Jen says, it depends very much on your target audience and what type of website is required .
