370557 2005-07-08 12:14:00 I have a laptop and in recent weeks the USB ports have been reporting that the device (a pen drive) has malfunctioned. I have checked it and it is in full working order, it just appears in device mangaer as 'Unknown Device'.

I have tried the following things,

Uninstall all the USB components in the correct order and reinstall.

Change from the SiS drivers to generic ones

Flashed the BIOS

Tried all three of the ports

I find have no idea of where to go from now, it seems a bit of a dead end. Please help as my laptop is rather limited without any USB ports. :help:

What operating system? You checked what - the drive? If your O/S is 98, then you need to install the CORRECT driver for the device .
