| 371881 | 2005-07-13 12:56:00 | Here's the scenario: HP LJ3380 All-In-One printer Main desktop computer Notebook D-Link DI-724P+ wireless DSL router and print server I want to connect the AIO printer via USB to my main desktop to use all it's function, and want to also share the printer with the notebook via the wireless print server (instead of forking out $600+ for a proper HP Jetdirect print server) by connecting the printer to the D-Link print server using the parallel cable because all I need is the printer function. Has anybody ever done anything remotely similar to this successfully? I haven't bought the print server yet because I'm not sure if it's feasible. The support people at HP said that I can only use one of the ports because it has a single processor, and that only the proper HP Jetdirect wireless print server can be used to network the printer. |
