| 371831 | 2005-07-13 09:09:00 | What digital photo management software would you reccomend for my parents? they want it to transfer the photos from the camera, provide an easy way to catalog them & give them meaningful names, provide basic editing options (must be easy to use). It must provide an easy way to transfer selected photos from the management software back onto the memory card. |

Get a card reader, like this www.dse.co.nz Which is internal, or this www.dse.co.nz Which is external. A lot easier to transfer photos to and from a memory card. Saves u connecting a cable, to the cam all the time, just for pics. Just take the pics, take the card out put it in whatever slot, and view/edit. And save back to the memory card, if u want to. If your parents use XP, the slots on these, will also appear in My computer. And u can also copy / view from within My Computer. |

For a free option Google's Picasa is a good option Get the card reader -- beats hooking the Digi Camera up to the Pc all the time! |

| 371837 | 2005-07-13 11:03:00 | For transferring pics, as suggested a card reader is a good idea. I've used Adobe, irfanview, ACDC, and others. Recently FoxyMX recommended the "FastStone" image viewer. It is excellent. Quite easy, but lots of options if you look. Now it's the one I use mostly. It is free, and can be found with a google search for FastStone. |

| 371840 | 2005-07-13 21:36:00 | Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try picasa. The microsoft product will probably kill my parents computer looking at the system requirements. 512mb of RAM reccomended. They have 256mb of RAM (the required amount), but 32mb of that is devoted to the onboard graphics. |
