371714 2005-07-13 00:16:00 I am having problem printing some graphics from Publisher 2003. The same graphic printed from Word 2003 or Publisher 2000 is fine.

I inititally thought it was a printer problem, but I have sinced tested on a different printer and that is fine.

Has anyone else experienced printing problems from Publisher 2003, or would anyone be willing to accept a Publisher file to test print it?

Thanks

371715 2005-07-13 00:27:00 I have Publisher 2002, can test if you like, email address is in me profile - click my username. Rob99 (151)
371716 2005-07-13 23:47:00 The problem is with image layers, what you need to do is unlock the images then re-order them.

To move one of the images you can drag it with the mouse, or when it is selected you can use the arrow keys on the keyboard.

To change the layer position click the image once then - Arrange menu - Order - you can then select if you want it bought forward or sent back.

371717 2005-07-14 04:28:00 I am familiar with the process of layers overlapping and hiding part of the image, but if this was a layer problem, wouldn't you get the same result no matter what program it was printed from? It prints perfectly in Word 2003 and Publisher 2000. It just doesn't print from Publisher 2003.

This has 3 separate graphics and the layers are locked together so individual components should always stay in the same place. When this prints, however, one of the components is moving.

I asked this question in another forum and had someone test print it. He tried 3 different printers incl inkjet and laser and they all faulted but the image was clipped in different places depending on which printer was used.

I would post the image for others to see but I don't appear to be able to upload attachments.

371718 2005-07-14 06:11:00 Here (sal.neoburn.net) is the image.

The first time I printed the publisher file it was fine, when I sent that graphic to the back I also saw the cropping of the foot.

You could also set the white color to transparent.

371719 2005-07-14 06:24:00 off topic but have you tried exporting to a PDF then printing? plod (107)
371720 2005-07-14 09:50:00 Unfortunately I don't have a PDF writer but if I simply copy the image to Word, it prints OK.

Rob99, I know that if you change the layer order it will crop, that's why it is locked in that order. I think you said that you only had Publsiher 2002 so maybe it prints OK in that program like it does from Publisher 2000. Perhaps the problem is specific to Publisher 2003.

Maybe it is time to ask the big boys at Microsoft

I'll keep you posted
