| 371531 | 2005-07-12 05:41:00 | Hello All I have been thinking that I should be backing up a few of my database a bit more often just in case my hosts mysql server goes down & I loss data. Now I am thinking instead of me manually backing up the database every few months or so that I should fine a backup script that I can run with a cron job & upload the database backups to my local computer automate via FTP The computer that will be running the FTP server is running win xp pro with SP 2 & the server software I will be using will be either GuildFTPd or FileZilla_Server I have not made my mind up yet on what one I will use. Now with opening up port 21 is there any thing else I need to know? Yes I will be using a firewall it will be Zone alarms & I will only be opening up port 21 to one ip address ( my web host ip address, Hopefully Zone alarms can do that & I will be blocking every thing else) & yes I know xtra may not like me doing this but stuff them! Any Advise/ feedback/ questions is welcome :) |
