372381 2005-07-18 02:26:00 entendre???? Even K dict hadn't heard of that! What does it mean John?
You need to take the two words together to make sense of it (and I assume it is French, cos you pronounce both words that way).

Double entendre is a figure of speech - on the surface there is an innocent meaning (e.g. screwing in a light bulb), but underneath there is another meaning (think up your own example...).

I am sure that Foxy didn't intend all of the second meanings; it is just that there are a few people on this sites with mucky minds! ;)

372385 2005-07-25 10:26:00 Or head down to Mitre 10 and buy a set of magnitised screwdrivers...
Your Mitre 10 store must be way better than ours because none of the ones I called in down here had any magnestised screwdrivers. Nor did Tricky Dicky have any but I got a flash red set from George Henry today - good quality "Powerbuilt" screwdrivers. They even come with pyjamas but I don't think I'll bother with those - too much clutter in my toolbox. :p

Had a bit of a run around trying to get some screws for the CD drive I had to install today as well, as it didn't come with any. Borrowed some from the old computer in the end but I'm going to have to get a packet of various sizes from somewhere. Again, Mitre 10 and DSE are useless. :(

372387 2005-07-25 10:47:00 The ones I buy aren't branded as magnitised, Though they are cheap ,which is good as i buy a new screwdriver set every 3 months, always seem to lose the 2 or 3 sizes I use most often.

You can also buy (from a PC shop) a tray of common computer screws, cheap as chips.

Though I find if you build a hundred or so comps you end up with a huge glut of them.....

372388 2005-07-25 10:53:00 Must say was interested to note that the word didn't appear without the double added.

Unfortunately my usual helpful and knowledgeable DSE staff member wasn't around so I had to ask some other twit at the counter who looked up the screwdrivers on their online catalogue and told me outright they had no computer screws. :(
