| 372318 | 2005-07-15 02:00:00 | Helloo, I have a Extremly fast Celeron 333MhZ  I am just trying to tweak my browsing speed and system response during net surfing. I have multiple window of IE opened while surfing as many ppl do :-) Does having a child instance of IE speed up system response?....e.g memory usage, CPU usage etc....i know if the parent goes down then they all go zip! :waughh: . Or it doesnt matter whether you open individually or open child instances Any other little tips will be very much appreciated...even if it makes a tiny weeny bit. Ohh..havent tried Firefox...is it faster than IE? Cheers |

| 372319 | 2005-07-15 02:10:00 | Anything is better/faster than IE! Try Firefox, Opera, Thunderbird etc . . The other browsers use tabbed browsing as well . . And you just have to click on a tab to change to whatever, instead of going thru multiple windows, to find the site in IE . If u open multiple windows in IE or in other browsers, and close the main window, the rest stay open, until u close them . I dont think many ppl use IE these days . Its so bloated and full of flaws . They use alternate / free / tabbed browsers . |

There is a good site full of tips to squeeze even more speed out of it here ( . org/wiki/OperaPerformance" target="_blank">nontroppo . org) that I have been told makes a bit of difference, particularly for someone who is on dialup . |
