371985 2005-07-14 05:29:00 Installing a new virus scanner on my old mans computer has meant that its in need of more ram, its quite old (2000) but ive found the ram specifications and posted them bellow. I posted the same query a while ago and someone posted a link to the appropriate ram at ascent which was really helpfull but my thread seems to have gone I would really appreciate it if someone could find compatable ram for sale somewhere. I'm not much of a ram expert and the computer being older im finding it hard to know if potential products will work. Maybe my post was removed due to the link to ascent if thats not allowed a pm would be appreciated.
I should also mention I want to max it up (hahaha) with 2x128.
thanks

371986 2005-07-14 05:34:00 Second hand PC100 RAM is readily available (second hand) from TradeMe (http://www.trademe.co.nz/).

If you want to buy it new, ComputerMedic (http://www.computermedic.co.nz/) might be able to help you :)

371987 2005-07-14 06:58:00 Pricespy has quite a few listings for SDRAM (168 pin). PC133 should work fine but will run at the PC100 speed. If you have a look at this list here (www.pricespy.co.nz), you should be able to find a local reseller. A local shop will also be able to install it for you, thereby ensuring that it works fine in that machine. :) Jen (38)

371990 2005-07-15 00:02:00 argghh . . . . . its an 810 .

you will need double sided low density ram . ie 128meg, double sided, 16 chip stick of ram (8 chips ger side) . dosn't matter if pc100 or pc133 . however if your replacing the existing ram then i suggest you get pc133 .

i'm a little suprised its a max of 256meg as 810 chipset normall max's out at 512 . must be an HP thing .
