373038 2005-07-18 04:55:00 I have just reformated a home computer and put on Windows XP.
Unfortunatly XP threatens to shut down in 30 days if I do not register over the internet.

Firstly my modem driver is not working and secondly I do not wish to have this home computer to have access the internet it is strictly a home computer (mostly for my sons games)!

Does anyone know how I can stop windows XP from shutting down in 30 days without having to connect to the internet to register?

Thanks.

373039 2005-07-18 05:01:00 It'll also give you a phone number which you can ring Mikeysoft to register over the phone Edward (31)
373040 2005-07-18 05:02:00 It's not the registration that'll lock u out,

Its the activation, which has to be done, within 30 days. Bring the activation screen up, and select the phone option and ring MS for the # to activate it.
