372916 2005-07-17 10:29:00 Hi there!

I was wondering if someone out in cyberspace can help me . . . I have uploaded a couple of asp pages to my host server (the owner of the server assures me that it is set up to run asp and . net pages) but I get a "Page not Found" message when I go to my asp pages . Here are the links to the pages:
www . god-zone . org . nz/test . asp ( . god-zone . org . nz/test . asp" target="_blank">www . god-zone . org . nz) and also . god-zone . org . nz/my_first_asp_page . asp" target="_blank">www . god-zone . org . nz

Any ideas as to why these pages may not be running . . . . the server is a Windows 2003 server .

Here is the source code for both pages .

test . asp Source code:

<%@ Language="VBScript" %>
<% Option Explicit %>

<!--- This page should display "ASP is working!" --->

<!--- if ASP is available to you . --->

<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE>ASP Test Page</TITLE>
</HEAD>

<BODY>

<% Dim TestString %>
<% TestString = "ASP is Working!" %>

<H1>

<% Response . Write TestString %>

</H1>
</BODY>
</HTML>

my_first_asp_page source code:

<html>
<head>
<title>My First ASP Page</title>
</head>
<body bgcolor="white" text="black">
<%
'Dimension variables
Dim strMessage

'Place the valuie Hello World into the variable strMessage
strMessage="Hello World"

'Write the contents of the variable strMessage to the web page
Repsone . Write(strMessage)

'Write line break into the web page
Repsone . Wrie("<br>")

'Write the server time on the web page using the VBScript Time() function
repsone . Write("the time on the server is: "& Time())

'Close the server script
%>
</body>
</html>

Thanx in advance for any help and advice! :thumbs:

372917 2005-07-17 11:27:00 Hi Brian,
as with the CGI problem (which I'm still trying to get info on) the message I get when trying to access those pages is a permissions error

The page cannot be displayed
You have attempted to execute a CGI, ISAPI, or other executable program from a directory that does not allow programs to be executed.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please try the following:

Contact the Web site administrator if you believe this directory should allow execute access.
HTTP Error 403.1 - Forbidden: Execute access is denied.
Internet Information Services (IIS)

I don't think you're hoster has things setup properly
I actually live close by and have had issues with this company before
It's a wierd setup they run and I think they rely on others for much of their technical expertise
As in the CGI post I admit to not knowing a hell of a lot about Windows Servers
I reckon you should get in touch with them again and have them sort it out
