I want to paste this formuala in a large list about 40,000 entries to check so you see why I am trying to write a formula rather than check manually!!! I tried to used nested IF statement but could not get it to work. Can someone please suggest a site to go to all can give me some pointers or ideas on how to do it, it will be much appreciated!!!!! Many Thanks TVG |

If so its easier if you take a 2 step approach. 1) In a blank column, concatenate the cells you wish to evaluate. eg =A1&B1&C1&D1&E1&F1 and copy formula down. 2) Find duplicates by counting how many occurances there are of the concatenated value. eg assuming the formula in 1 above was in G1 your formula would look like this =COUNTIF(G:G,G1) If the result is >1 then there is a duplicate |
