1388142 2014-11-15 22:00:00 When I turn on my computer the monitor is blank and the box is beeping. Reoman (17308)
1388143 2014-11-15 22:58:00 It's faulty.

You could try this:

pcsupport.about.com

1388144 2014-11-15 23:17:00 Something has either failed or come lose / not making contact.

What happens is when the PC boots, it looks for all the components ( called POST) Power on Self Test, if something is wrong you get the beeps, depending on the type of beep depends on what the problem is.

Could be any of the following:

Power Supply Failure
Memory Failed
Hard Drive Failed
Motherboard Failed
Graphic Card Failed ( if it has one - Not onboard)
CMOS battery gone flat

Theres a few more reasons as well.

It can also mean what ever is causing the problem is full of dust EG: sometimes the memory gets dust in the slots, removing the memory / blowing it out putting it back fixes it.

1388146 2014-11-16 03:33:00 Usually:

RAM failure or not seated correctly.
Graphics failure.

Although, the beeps are an indication - how many, short or long etc....
And thus can be as Wainuitech says.

1388147 2014-11-16 06:02:00 Has the cable dropped out of the monitor? Bryan (147)
1388148 2014-11-16 20:54:00 Count the beeps and tell us how many, also tell us the computer brand as beep codes can vary between brands. If you find that too hard (sometimes the beeps can be very fast) you could record the audio and upload it somewhere. (Soundcloud?) Agent_24 (57)
1388149 2014-11-17 07:30:00 Thank you for all your responses, much appreciated. This morning I turned it on to count the beeps and it opened up and now back to normal,

Thanks again

1388150 2014-11-17 07:35:00 Hate to say it but you'll be very lucky if it's just a one-time thing. Agent_24 (57)
