1375043	2014-05-15 19:46:00	Pretty much the same as LL. Self taught from ZX81 then 286 onwards. Had about a dozen older friends and associates that I did regular work for. Got paid in goods, cakes, chutney and from the elderly with bugger all money and my one rich contractor friend used to give us a large trailer of macrocarpa firewood yearly and take me and SWMBO out for a posh nosh each Xmas. All but stopped now as I had to chuck it all in when I was in bad health fot most of 2012. Ken	kenj (9738)

1375047	2014-05-19 04:40:00	I was working with a big property developer in London doing their accounts and reporting for rental etc, they had a biggish IT dept, and after one of them showed me Doom on the network, i sudden thought, computer are quite cool actually...I did some self teaching and a few courses Novell & Citrix, and after much pestering the IT dept took me on! That was back in 94, after a few years there, i got back to NZ in 03, parent mentioned I had returned to their accountant and I got my current job, then 2 wks ago applied for job from Seek, 1st job, 1 interview, and wallah!...must admit, didn't think I would get another job so quickly!
