Haha - You're not the first and you wont be the last to metion this, the reason for getting the smaller bike is the fact I'm a small person (as in height and weight). I have considered something bigger but want to start off with the 150cc and if I feel the need to upgrade then I will do so.

It's also just going to be used as a short distant commuter for sometime until my confidence/experience is up.

1375298 2014-05-20 03:02:00 Yep. Those were my thoughts when I first started riding. You only go as fast as you twist the throttle. Each to there own. Bigger bike also helps in windy conditions and also a lot easier to get yourself out of trouble if you need too. plod (107)
1375299 2014-05-20 05:15:00 I'm envious. I considered buying and learning to ride a couple years ago. Our flavourite PF1 ladee FoxyMX (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) is a helpful sort and source of info Greg (193)

#ConfessionTime - I've been putting it off for *ages* for the simple fact I'm sh*t scared of riding one... although I spend most of my time watching them go around a race track at 250ks+. But I have to remember I'm not going to be going that fast or slidding on my knee/elbow to that extent haha.

Treat everyone around you as an idiot trying to kill you. But dont forget to enjoy yourself and you dont need to go fast to do that. plod (107)
1375302 2014-05-20 08:58:00 When I was 15 (1949) I had to ride 30 miles on a metal road mounted on a BSA M20 500cc side valve ex-army bike to get to the nearest Police station for a test. The cop had just got a new Norton and was keen to show it off, so we went for a ride with me trying my best to keep up with him. A car overtook us, we were showered in dust and stones. The cop took of after the car, and I found my way back to the Police station. In due course the Cop arrived having booked the offending motorist. He reckoned that I could ride Ok and gave me a license, there was no test. I then had to ride the 30 miles back home. mzee (3324)
