1388209 2014-11-17 08:45:00 Is there genuine, honest, Free Dial-up internet today?

I have a friend who cant afford broadband, but could benefit from some internet.

1388210 2014-11-17 10:58:00 Try searching for Freenet - it was (? still is) a NZ free dialup site. Kept it as a backup when I first got b/band and I am fairly sure my account still worked about 2yrs ago when I sold my old cptr with a dialup modem in it. I used to use Splurge - it was good until Woosh bought it and neglected it. Try the Consumer's Institute website - I think they keep a fairly comprehensive list of NZ ISPs. So also did a magazine - IIRC it was called Netguide.

I very much doubt it. Even Freenet costs money .
If they have a laptop, there are allways free wifi hotspots, or maybee try the local library for free internet access .

Only if you have your homeline with them

Otherwise the likes of FreeNet are $5 or KOL (Bought by Orcon I think?) are $10
