1375538 2014-05-22 21:01:00 I had a discussion with a friend. I was a contractor who provided several companies on-call technical support.

One company had a stoner owner. He partook about 3 times a day.

He had a tendency to forget things, and was mildly paranoid. This made him difficult to deal with.

I told my friend I don't smoke myself, because I found it unpleasant: it made me mildly and temporarily paranoid.

Anyhow my friend argued marijuana doesn't make you paranoid; it was just "having a bad outlook".

Here's an article called "Why Pot Smokers Are Paranoid"

1375539 2014-05-23 09:00:00 Every single pot smoker I have ever met is paranoid, much more so than say drinkers or tobacco smokers gary67 (56)
1375540 2014-05-23 09:16:00 Yes I agree, all the dope smokers I have met have mental health issues and that includes the clowns who use it for medicinal purposes. They are all a few sandwiches short of a picnic, some the whole hamper and the rug short of a picnic. In earlier times they would be in jail or a mental institutions. Thats where they belong prefect (6291)

What evidence?
From those who don't use it? Know no-one who does? Make stuff up cause they are anti-drugs?

People with an existing mental health issue shouldn't, I agree it can aggravate it.

Do you behave "normally" when indulging? NO, that's why they do it I guess, like drinkers.

My observations....yes, they are pretty vacant after indulging....they forget what they were saying in the middle of it and crap like that....

Do they go nuts in some way? No......
I have mentioned, I know a couple of people who have smoked for a long, long time......one is in his '60s, the other in her '50s.

Neither have any health issues. One works in the medical industry in a position that would surprise you, or maybe scare you if you knew?
Neither have ever screwed up at work.
Well, not yet.....Then again, they don't indulge before work.

They are pretty peaceable people too, all the *^^%holes I know, drink.

1375544 2014-05-27 01:17:00 I wouldn't shed a tear if all recreational mind-alerting drugs, including alcohol, were made illegal.

But as alcohol is legal and frequently abused, it's hypocritical to illegalize marijuana.

From Scientific America, "The Toxicity of Recreational Drugs: Alcohol is more lethal than many other commonly abused substances"

1375545 2014-05-27 02:18:00 Its no worse than booze
that is never a reasonable argument to make anything legal

How can anyone possible single out dope as being OK to legalize, without also legalizing every other drug available (using the same arguements)

But I'd say if it were reversed & booze was banned & pot made legal, society would be better off.

Looking at the article on the 1st post I see words such as
"may enhance"'
"more research is needed to say for sure"
"more studies are needed"
"sometimes results in"
"mechanisms that could explain"
