373984 2005-07-21 00:35:00 :help: Can anyone help please. I have a Toshiba 4070cds. It wont start up. When i plug the power cable in the light on the front dont evan come on. I have been told that the mother board may be broken. I have also been told that this problem is a simple to fix. PLEASE HELP Belsim (8568)
373985 2005-07-21 00:55:00 The problem could also be that the power adapter (the black box in the middle of the power lead) has failed.

Start simple and check that with a multimeter first.

373986 2005-07-21 01:55:00 If it's a "mains" cord, without a power supply in the middle, the same applies . Sometimes power cords fail . Check it with a multimeter . Carefully .

A broken mother board is the least likely problem . Start with the cheapest possibility, the power cord . ;)
