373793 2005-07-20 06:31:00 Hi all, I have recently bought DVR-109 DVD Writer which is 16X speed dual layer dvd writer . And i have also bought some 8X speed Imitation DVD-R's .
I have windows XP with service pack 2 .

I have tried to back up some data and i could not write the DVD-R's more than 4X speed .
Then i have changed all the cables from 40 IDE to 80 IDE .

Now i have 1 80 IDE cable for the two hard drives and another 80 IDE cable for pioneer dvd writer as master and Ricoh cd writer as a slave .

In the bios the UDMA option is under AUTO . (so i guess it is automatically selected) .

But i still cant write the DVD-R's more than 4X speed .

Can anyone please let me know what else i can do to get it working?

Thanks a lot . .
