| 373675 | 2005-07-20 00:52:00 | What are you using the computer for? Xeons are for servers, running high end apps and such like, cost more than Intel P4's and, I think, do not work on the same motherboard boards. If you want a server CPU, look at the AMD Opterons. |

If you want the best in gaming, go for an AMD FX CPU, it'll cost an arm and a leg though, although not as much as an Intel Extreme which will not perform as well. For your common or garden CPU's, any of the higher rated AMD or Intel CPU's will do, the AMD's edge the Intels for performance at the mo and do better in the bang for bucks ($$) stakes. Give Metla a buzz for specific advice. |
