374188 2005-07-22 01:42:00 Hello :)

Is it possible for the favicon to show up next to the url in IE? ( Like what happens in firefox) E.g. see pic:

www.webstarters.co.nz

The code I am using is:

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico">

Any ideas? :confused:

Does it work if you have it added to your favorites?

374190 2005-07-22 02:03:00 I think in IE the site has to be added to the IE favourites for it work. Personally I tried many ways to get IE to use my favicon for my site but nothing I did made it work so eventually gave up. Firefox finds it and uses it easy as we all know.

I use a different code though....

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="www.cncnz.com type="image/x-icon">A Google search gives you heaps of info so have a look www.google.co.nz

LOL, most server support would support this, as it’s a browser thing not a server thing

Maybe you could include a wee message or link to "bookmark/add to favourites" on the page.
