| 374059 | 2005-07-21 07:02:00 | I had a pop-up advising me (the old story) that I had a virus on my 'puter, and "just click here to eliminate it" . Natch, I did not, but the url was showing, so I went into my Internet Security Settings>>Restricted Sites, and found that the URL had been wild-carded as restricted . It looked like this: " * . casalemedia . com " I went ahead and input the url on the pop-up anyway without any wildcard (http://isg27 . casalemedia . com) and entered it . Spybot also has casalemedia . com blackballed . What I wonder is this: why didn't the wildcard version block it at all? Why didn't Spybot kill it either? This came in while I was on F1, via Firefox . Strange? :waughh: |

| 374061 | 2005-07-21 22:31:00 | it could have been through flash content which can get around some of the browser site blocking . also it could have come from outside of the browsers . (which is why i like the host file) . |
