374410 2005-07-22 11:35:00 Use Nero Express. And change the dvd/cd burner to the dvd burner. Then select DVD video files, if the option is there. Then add one of those files.

See if will work. Then go from there. I would also read the help file in it.

And maybe update to 6.6.0.15. This is the latest version of Nero.

Do you have a DVD burner??

374414 2005-07-22 11:55:00 I've never used Nero for those files .

Only Nerovision, which is a separate download . Just see if Nero loads whatever ifo / vob file u have and go from there . See what it does .

374415 2005-07-22 13:32:00 Basically you select "DVD Video" as the Disc Type that you wish to burn.

From there, you need to drag the files that were outputted from the likes of DVD Shrink (My preferred choice, means you can remove XYZ extras and fit it to 4.38GB) in to the Video_TS folder
Leave the Audio_TS folder on the disc, but it should be empty

Chill.

374416 2005-07-22 22:57:00 I have just been reading this thread and learnt a thing or 2. I have had a DVD burner for a week and have been trying to convert AVI files to VOB files to burn to a DVD. After making about 6 or so coasters I think I have it right. The software I got with the burner was Ulead DVD Moviefactory and Nero OEM Suite V6.3.1.18F since upgraded to the full version which I payed for. Just needed a serial number to activate the full program. Without the full version, when you burn your DVD you get no sound. I got most of my help from the forums and support FAQs for the software I use.

374417 2005-07-23 05:50:00 DVD-Shrink ( . dvdshrink . org/where . html" target="_blank">www . dvdshrink . org) is available and still very free . It zips the files into a . iso format, and you can then directly burn them onto disc, or what I do is just run WinRAR (http://www . rarlab . com/) , unzip them and leave them on my harddrives for playing thru POWER DVD (findable and keygen'd on a site that is findable) or played on the puter with Windows Medial Player too .

I have dedicated 4 200/g JBOD HD's just for this purpose .

I send the signal out thru the Fiber optic port on my VidCard, and all the tv's in the house can get the signal, as well as my home theater .

DVD Shrink is very good . . just leave out the languages and the stuff you don't want (re-author the original when you rip it) and you'll save a lot of room . If you disable the video screen when it's ripping, it goes a little faster too . I get most movies shrunk-WinRAR'd and saved in about 3 . 5 to 4 . 25 gig . I make sure to use the 6 . 1 audio, but you can use whatever speaker format you have . . . don't try to fake it out though . . . the sound will get messed up a little if you tell it you want 5 . 1 and all you've got is 2 . 0 .

I personally find that POWER DVD is an exceptional player . It has a lot more control for sound and special effects, and I like the multi-skins on the player too . It looks like a real theater with the velvet curtains and even some people in the audience . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . not like the very simple, however good quality of Windows Player . I guess I am a sucker for glitz .

374418 2005-07-23 06:00:00 . . . just a note here . . I have a full-licensed copy of POWER DVD, as it came in the DVD burner I bought . I lost the original cd-rom with the key and everything, and the company was very nasty to me, even though I faxed them a copy of the receipt and a scan of the box it came in when I asked for a download copy of the cd . They in no uncertain terms told me to satisfy myself sexually (?) and told me that it was too bad, if I wanted another copy, I'd have to buy another DVD Burner from the company I bought the original one from . I felt very justified in getting a copy off another site that also gave me the key . I had paid for it, and was not gonna buy another to satisfy some ex-Chinese General in Taipek .

I found the original cd-rom and the original key a few months after getting the pirate version, but I am still very unhappy with the Customer (Non-) relations idiot I met in China . :D

374419 2005-07-23 06:52:00 Actually, DVD Shrink doesnt rar anything, it can make ISO's if you tell it to, but you're better off telling it to save to a HDD folder.

It'll happily rip the .vob files you need though to immediately throw in to the VIDEO_TS folder of a DVD :)

Otherwise, if you're getting it to make a .ISO you can burn the ISO off and get the same results, just a different way of doing it.

WinRAR has the annoying habit of opening ISO files by default, and it bugs the heck outta me... :(
