| 374992 | 2005-07-25 01:26:00 | Maybe it doesnt like ghost? It'll be better just formatting a hdd instead of cloning, or ghosting. If you're having probs using Ghost. Or HDClone. |

| 374995 | 2005-07-25 23:59:00 | HDD failed? Are you sure that is the exact message? IS it sATA or IDE? Hi PCtec! The drive is Maxtor DiamondMax Plus8, Ultra ATA/133, IDE compatable. Sys is Win XPhome on Athlon 1200 XP and Mobo Aopen AK73.Cable is 40 pin 80 wire,, blue connector is plugged into Mobo, black into HDD. I copied previos HDD on the Maxtor. Now, when I switch PC on it first is looking for IDE drives and finds Maxtor. Then tells that Primary master HDD fail, press F1. I press F1 and there is no Primary HDD. Asks for bootable CD disk. BIOS I configured for C boot. I swith off PC, start again and it works ok. Not a big problem, but I am curious. My original HDD is Seagate 40G, that Maxtor was cloned from, and I keep it unconnected just in case. |

| 374997 | 2005-07-26 04:38:00 | It looks as if the BIOS still wants the previous disk. Instead of using "F1" to ignore the error, go into the BIOS setup, let it see the new disk, and "exit with save". | Graham L (2) | ||

Instead of using "F1" to ignore the error, go into the BIOS setup, let it see the new disk, and "exit with save". Hi Graham! In CMOS Setup IDE Primary Master is the right HDD Maxtor. The previous HDD was Seagate. At IDE Autodetection asks to press Enter. Pressed it. It said Detecting Master HDD. HDD data, size, cylinders etc look correct. Restarted PC and it looks as it is all ok now. Thanks a lot! |
