| 374660 | 2005-07-23 22:47:00 | I have no use for the default folders in My Documents named My Music and My Pictures. After I delete them they keep returning next boot. Any idea how to pemanently get rid of them? Not a major worry of course, but I don't like Windows telling me what I can and can't do. WinXP Pro SP1 Thx |

You can try this from Start > Run: Regsvr32 /u mydocs.dll Reference (www.subdiv.net) Looking at other comments about this on the net, you will need to reconfigure the applications that wish to write to these folders eg WMP and point the default directory to another location. Other suggestions mention that going deeper (registry hacking) than the above command may be required to stop the folders being recreated. You can also move the locations of the My Music and My Picture folders elsewhere (think TweakUI can do this) so that they are not in your My Documents directory. |
