375298 2005-07-25 17:06:00 Hi,
I need to buy some CD's to store mainly data, but also digital photos. I have never used our drive to record on.

I looked in the hardware description and it's listed as a:
HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE 8483B

Any ideas?
Thanks, Lori

375299 2005-07-25 21:03:00 Just go into DSE and buy some Imations - they'll do what you want. You don't have to get anything "special", but it is best to avoid the very cheap ones as they tend to be not as reliable. pctek (84)
375300 2005-07-25 21:11:00 The media you are after is CD-R or CD-RW discs.
Most brands are ok, I use the cheapies (TDK or Dorado) and they suit my needs (Application backups e.g. zipped files)

375302 2005-07-26 04:36:00 I would recommend CD-R discs for your data and photo backups, not CD-RW. FoxyMX (5)
