| 375155 | 2005-07-27 23:34:00 | I understand what's happening, and yes, the top (default) is SEARCH...but how do I repair it? I ran the batch file ^^^above here, and I am gonna try a restart to see if it works, so far it hasn't.... | SurferJoe46 (51) | ||
| 375156 | 2005-07-27 23:39:00 | Oh....for some reason I figured you had me on ignore....Lmao. Anyhow, if the above batch file doesn't work (which I doubt because it isn't a file association error) then do a google for editing the right click menu and remove search from the top of teh list. If it refuses to go then you have to reset a few values, starting with these. Steps: 1. Click Start 2. Click Run 3. Type in the run box: regedit 4. Click OK 5. When regedit opens, go to the following key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\directory\shell 6. Click Modify on the Edit menu 7. Type none in the Value data box 8. Click OK 9. Navigate to the following key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\drive\shell 10. Click Modify on the Edit menu 11. Type none in the Value data box 12. Click OK 13. Close regedit |
