| 376367 | 2005-07-28 09:00:00 | Hi Team The problem is solved, but I thought that the solution might be useful to others. Yesterday Outlook 2000 decided to freeze every time I clicked Send/Receive. Google was no help at all, so I decided to run the Detect and Repair function under the Help menu. I ran it through to the end, inserting the CD as required but it didn't fix it. I tried a full reboot just in case, but that didn't help either. I was contemplating restoring from a Ghost backup image, but I was in a bit of a hurry so I decided to run Detect and Repair again. The process didn't appear to be any different, but when it finished I had a second Outlook icon on my desktop, and to my surprise (happy happy, joy joy) the problem was fixed. Point of the post is this, if there is a procedure to run that is supposed to fix a problem, if it fails at the first attempt, it may be worth trying again. A full cold reboot between attempts may also help. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
