| 376302 | 2005-07-27 23:59:00 | I'm having a bit of an issue with Kerio Personal Firewall 4, at the moment. It won't work with my e-mail, which is Mail Washer and Mozilla. As far as I can see in the configuration area Mail Washer and Mozilla are permitted. Funny thing is it worked perfectly alright up until a few days ago and I have turned off Windows Firewall. To check my e-mail I have to disable Kerio, which makes me feel very uneasy. The e-mail works with Windows Firewall if I have Kerio turned off but I have my doubts about its effectiveness. Anyone have any thoughts on this one please? Should I persist with Kerio or try something else like Zone Alarm or Sygate? |

I suppose though, there would still be a fair bit of stuff in the registry that would have to be deleted as well. |

| 376307 | 2005-07-29 10:11:00 | Are you maybe using the latest version of Kerio 4.2.0? There have been a few problems with the new HIPS function and problems often go away if this is disabled. There's quite a bit of discussion about this on their forums. I've had no problems at all and really like Kerio4. Hope you sort it out. |

| 376308 | 2005-08-13 07:13:00 | I've been running Zone Alarm for a few days now and find it a lot easier to configure than Kerio. The funny thing is that things were getting worse & worse with Kerio. It started out OK but then things like my network got slower and more difficult to use as time went on. On uninstalling Kerio and installing & configuring Zone Alarm, it all works better. |

I'm amazed at the imprecision of computing. I guess (!) it's to do with the great complexity. I mean, posters are always saying "try this, try that, it might work. I have done programming in COBOL ages ago but the net and these live interactive progs. are new to me. |

Now this may not help but Beetle has a problem with Email and was said that the virus checker was a problem. The only thing which you both use is Mailwasher as far as I see it so far. Are you both with the same ISP? I have no idea at the moment. |
