The telephone cables were installed in parallel with the Coax cable. Not everyone is prepared to pay for Cable internet.

376206 2005-07-28 03:24:00 I also have had paradise problems with well and its really starting to bug me!!

I've just joined orcon dialup but will stay paradise.I was gonna write a complain later!1

I introduced my friend to paradise. He received direct debit form within 3 days. They actually have to receive the forms process it before they let you connect. It's been 1 week now and all paradise can say is that they haven't received it.

She was frustrated because back in the states they let u on within 5 seconds by paying credit card for the first month of use!!

She has joined orcon like me now.Took like 5 mins and we were connected!!

I am happily surfing the net while waiting the direct debit form to arrive!!

376208 2005-07-28 20:30:00 Have you added or changed your phones?
I once added a new phone to the house and it screwed with my dialup internet connection.

I used to have heaps of trouble with my computer not shutting down - sometimes I would have to try it up to 3 times. When i got broadband I removed the 56K modem, and the computer has been running perfect ever since.

So how about totally removing and reinstalling the modom.

376209 2005-07-28 21:11:00 Hey.
I'm on paradise also - and over the last 2 weeks i've being having the same problems - usually i get good connections with them.
I have to reconenct about 4 times before i can get an OK connection - still nothing like i used to get.
And i'm also getting problems with my email (its paradise email that is the problem - not outlook) including one night where i couldn't check my emails for about 5 hours.
If you check on the paradise site - networkstatus.telstraclear.co.nz - you can see the status on the network - and they've being having alot of problems with email.

hopefully it comes back to normal soon.
