Why are you so rude to me all the time? You often say nasty mean things to me. I'm sorry I am poor and can't even afford another 2nd one, not everyone has the same chances in life... please stop being mean to me all the time mr rain.

375805 2005-07-27 08:21:00 on the topic of the broken monitor, I dont think its the graphic card as the pc still boots up fine, (normally if the graph cards stuffs up the pc beeps like crazy) it may be a loose wire... perhaps where the wire connects to the back of the pc from the card, but there is no "no signal" on screen... so I guess it may be an overload somewhere and it's shutting itself down...
well... anybody know of anywhere good to look for a 2nd hand 19inch monitor for around $100 in the hamilton area?? thanks!

375806 2005-07-27 08:48:00 Ive seen a hundred dead video cards with no system beeps going on.

Imo the entire waiting for beeps system shouldn't be entertained for a second when it comes to troubleshooting, its as reliable as thinking all monitors power up before powering down or that they all show a no signal screen.

375807 2005-07-27 11:37:00 i had the same problem so i did what i told you befor and also if u contact me i have a monitor for you for free i am glad to help out the needy anytime and also was your refresh rate set too high for the monitor. Mr_Rain313 (7944)
375808 2005-07-27 22:49:00 no mr rain, i dont think it's the refresh rate set too high, as i never adjusted it, and also i have tried it on other PC and it still wouldnt operate i guess there must be an overload as it cuts out as soon as power goes through it...
and also mr rain, you dont have a spare monitor! last time you geve me something for "free" it ended up catching on fire and cost me $300 in demages, and then I got that "laughing email" from you....... :annoyed: :badpc:

375809 2005-07-27 23:31:00 plug the monitor into a friends pc if it works then you've learnt something drcspy (146)
375810 2005-07-28 02:03:00 trust me, I did and learnt nothing... i plugged it into my friends pc and then it did the same thing, when we plugged his lcd back into his pc the settings were all stuffed and and it displayed "out of frequency" on his LCD... so somehow it got a signal from my broken monitor... as it works for 1second and then switches off... his monitor was fine once I rebooted with his attactched anyways.... geh.. i think I'll have to buy another one, I'm guessing that its switching itself of as a saftey mechanism because of a possible overload as someone suggested before... only one thing for it :badpc: bizzack (7739)
