| 375788 | 2005-07-27 01:55:00 | I am having a problem with a compaq laptop. Everytime you boot it up it goes to the shutdown screen. It gets to the part where it loads the wallpaper and goes into a state that looks like it's trying to shutdown. It isn't the actual Windows Xp shutdown procedure as it has no text saying that, it just has the similar style image etc... It happened after my friend tried installing Jetstream. I tried booting to safe mode, loading the default bios settings and loading the last known configuration with no luck. I did some brief google searches with nothing aswell. I'm hoping people with a compaq laptop have had the same problem! Specs- Windows XP Home Service Pack 1 Compaq Presario 2500 Link me if it's been posted before |

| 375792 | 2005-07-27 03:00:00 | a repair install may cure your probs of course however being a compaq you most likely dont have a windoze disk ?....... | drcspy (146) | ||
| 375793 | 2005-08-02 10:23:00 | The same thing has happened to me in the past. It turned out that the battery was flat and the DC adaptor was turned off at the wall by accident. You never know..... I hope that's all that your problem is, or that it is now well solved. Cheers Lynda |
