| 376822 | 2005-07-30 06:55:00 | I have a new ASUS laptop with a restore partition that I am setting up . It is partitioned into two 20GB partitions plus the small restore partition . I want to resize the C: to 8GB with the remainder for the D: drive . But I got cold feet wondering if the system restore would have a problem if I resized the other partitions . Anyone with experience in this area? PS I wish the manufacturers would include a proper XP CD with their offerings . Grrrr . |

| 376825 | 2005-07-30 09:06:00 | New Asus laptops come with recovery CD's and usually a standalone XP cd plus a drivers cd, thats as well as the recovery partition. They generally cover all teh bases. Also if you re-partition when it comes time to do a "recovery" you get the option to leave your partitions as you have set them. |

| 376826 | 2005-07-30 12:12:00 | Thanks, Metla. This one doesn't come with an XP CD. By the look of the script files on the CDs they clobber and resize partitions, anyway! So I will carry on with my resizing. Thanks for replies. |
