| 376512 | 2005-07-29 10:04:00 | Personally I use PC-Cillin 2002, I have used it for the last 2 years or so. I have considered upgrading to PC-Cillin Internet Security 2005 but quite frankly, don't want to pay for it as the version I'm using came free with my Asus mobo CD. I think it's great... it's not complicated to use and doesn't intrude while you're surfing the net with pop up info messages. I warns me of possible bad java scripts and isn't bad at all when it comes to scanning e-mails either. I tried Norton Internet Security but found that it was to "noisy" after installing... I understand that the application sort of determines your system baseline for Internet activity but I found this quite annoying. All the same many of the other firewalls mentioned do a great job... personal preference is all it is really. Incidently you can run Windows Firewall with another firewall application... in the Windows Security centre it will say that "At least one of your installed firewalls is operational" or something like that. cheers chiefnz |
